Safety culture

Nowadays, any company willing to maintain a significant position on the market obeys the standards and policies required by HSE regulations. However, what really makes KBR Poland unique is the idea of making their employees aware that they need to think about their health and safety not only at work but also at home.

Our Safety Culture is deeply rooted in the belief that zero incidents is achievable. For this reason, we have implemented the ‘ZERO HARM’ programme with one common aim for the entire corporation based on five premises:

  • ‘Zero is Achievable’ – every incident is avoidable
  • ‘Intolerable of Incidents’ – irrespective of their seriousness
  • ‘Safety is Personal’ – stay active and motivated
  • ‘All Day, Every Day’ – think about y our safety at work and in your f ree time
  • ‘Willingness to Intervene’ – if you see a hazardous situation, take action

The vision of ‘ZERO HARM’ is an insep arable part of our Safety Philosophy which consolidates and takes Safety Culture to a higher level:

  • We strive to create a genuinely independent Safety Culture at the higher levels of our organisation
  • Every person and every team feels ownership for safety and takes responsibility for themselves and others
  • Our employees are actively encouraged not to accept low standards and risktakers and to actively converse with others
  • We truly believe that real and lasting improvement is attainable through team work

Implementation of the ‘ZERO HARM’ programme has resulted in a signif icantly lower number of work-related incidents and in a visible en gagement of employees in enhancing their awareness during everyday activities. This is also appreciated by our clients and has been acknowledged through positive feedback and numerous safety awards.
Every year, all KBR locations celebrate the ‘ZERO HARM’ Day. It is a day of reflection on our safety and health at work and at home
